Possible PCOS? Few questions/vent
OK, I am definitley known to research way to much on the internet but I have been looking stuff up since DH and I seem to be having difficulty conceiving. I have been reading about PCOS and wondering if it is possible that that is what I have. Here's some facts about me:
-was on bc for 8 years, had very short AF's -AF regulated after 2 months off bc -I get AF every month, but it my cycle ranges from 28-33 days -I have had significant weight gain over the past year or so ( I mean like 30-40 lbs.) -weight gain noticeable around my middle (I have always had a pretty flat stomach) -Been excercising at least 3 times a week for about 2 months, watching portions, haven't lost a thing -had ovarian cysts in the past -get a pain in my ovary area every month about a week before AF -DH and I have been TTC for 8 month, unsuccessfully -Some months I use OPK I get surge, others I don't
OK, I'm sorry it is so long, but I was due for AF this weekend, she hasn't showed, but I got a BFN. I'm feeling so depressed and I guess just looking for feedback and answers. I am going to a new doctor on June 13th and I will tell him all of this. Just looking to see if anyone has any advice. Thanks so much for listening

Re: Possible PCOS? Few questions/vent
OMG, I have all the same questions/symptoms as you! I am going to the dr. on Wednesday for my annual, and DH and I have been trying since August. I really have to stop reading things on the internet, because it makes me so nervous. My period has been ranging from 22-30 days, but of course this month, I am on CD 38 and no period and no BFP. I am nervous and excited to go to the dr. because I just want to know what is going on!

Wow, so glad to know I'm not alone, please let me know how your appt. goes. I actually also went off the pill in August, but we weren't really "trying".Good luck hope we find some answers!

Re: Possible PCOS? Few questions/vent
Hi, I have a "probably PCOS" diagnosis... I went of the pill in Sept and had pretty regular periods at around CD 30, with a marked temp. rise. In Feb, my cyle went to 35 days, when I got AF on Feb. 25th... I haven't had a period since then. When I went to the dr. she did an internal sonogram and saw that my ovaries were full of cysts, one even had the "string of pearls" look that is indicative of PCOS. So she took blood to find out my hormone levels and I will go back next week to go over the results with her. I don't really have any of the other symptoms of PCOS - except I have had a lot of breakouts since February. I was on the pill since I w as 19, and before going on the pill my periods were very irregular, so probably have always had PCOS but it was masked by the pill.

Re: Possible PCOS? Few questions/vent
TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR!!!!!!! Tell your doctor about every little symptom you have, no matter if you think it's insignificant. You may be referred to a specialist that can help you. I was sent to a specialist and a nutritionist that specializes in PCOS. I am now 26 weeks pregnant!!!!!!!
