Potty Regression
My 2.5 year old potty trained easily. It was a dream.
Over the past few days she has been peeing herself. We thought maybe she didn't want to stop playing or watching her show to go, which would be unusual since she always tells us, but we shrugged it off. She also wet her bed, so we put a pull up back on her during the night and it was wet in the morning a couple of times. She has been wearing underwear to bed for weeks now.
Yesterday she told me she had to poop and when I brought her to the potty, she had already gone in her pants. It wasn't a little either. It was a huge dump. (Sorry for the imagery.)
What are we supposed to do? I've looked online and in my toddler books (instruction manuals as we call them) and all I see is positive reinforcement etc.
Any advice?
Thanks.

Re: Potty Regression
no pullup.. that'll regress her even more..
you need to exercise patience.. is there anything going on right now? new move? any problems at home? new school or daycare setting? I would look and see if there is anything happening but I would just try to reinforce and just go back to re-training her.. putting her back on the potty every 20-30 minutes.. cut back on liquids before bedtime and having her go right before as well.

Thank you. I'll stop with the pull-ups.
My Mom has been ill and I wasn't home a lot for 3-4 days. That's when this started. Things are getting back to normal with her grandma, so maybe that will make a difference.

Re: Potty Regression
i 2nd...NO PULL UP. it'll only confuse her and make her think that it's ok to potty in her pants.
we've gone through this with DS (he's 2.7mnths). i agree with positive reinforcement...kind of like you're retraining them again but it's only going to take 2-3days instead of weeks/months. praise, praise, praise! you'll both make it through this...patience.

Ah, you see.. that's it.. Kids pick up on everything.. My DD was PT at 18 months and once her little sister was born, she started doing the same thing.. and mind you, she was good to her sister and excited but it still disrupted her..
Just try and be patient (I know it's exhausting and frustrating)
maybe try and talk to her and see what's going on with her may help too.

Thank you! I've been patient, but worried. kept thinking "I knew this was too easy!"
Lots of positive reinforcement!

You've done great so far...keep up the good work. Unfortunately this is completely normal.
