Potty training questions - esp working moms
1/ How do I stay consistent with it as a working mom?
2/ What do daycare moms do - I don't expect my 18-month old's teacher to let him sit on the bowl for 10-minutes before each diaper change
3/ how often should he be going at first? Right now he has averaged once a week (totalling 2x) b/c that's what we've had time for.
I feel like we've introduced it and now I can't follow through

Re: Potty training questions - esp working moms
I'm no help-we are starting this process. I'm actually hoping to be able to potty train DD while I am home on maternity leave.
Meanwhile, I would talk to your daycare and see how they handle. Ours has a plan for this-and they leave it up to you when you want to start so that they can back you up. It often does include them letting DC sit on the toilet for a while.

Re: Potty training questions - esp working moms
I picked a week when I was home - she was off for Passover, so that's when I started. I put her in underwear that entire week.
When I started working again, I was consistent with her in the morning and evening - kept her in underwear the whole time, and I would make sure to let her see her potty DVD each day, while sitting on her potty, and read potty books with her. I also put up a sticker chart in the bathroom, and started using skittles to incentivize her.
Honestly, I wasn't ready, but she was, so I bit the bullet - she was the first in her class to start the process, so I went in and talked to her teachers about it, who were very encouraging. They asked me to bring in lots of extra clothing and underwear, and asked me to bring in her own potty chair that she picked out, so she could sit on it at any time during the day that she wanted. They also took her to the school potty a few times a day to encourage her.
