Potty Training Questions.... Nearly 3yr old DD
Potty Training by Auntie Week One has been this week...... Method: put her on the pot often and rejoice like its Christmas for every development on the pot. No pressure and allow her to decline the offer. If she sits on the pot she gets toys, books, games. If she goes she gets a sticker and an ice cream cone (occassionally). Use of pull ups and panties too along with diapers. Tried training pants but she hated them cause they were ‘hot’.
As of today, she will go both on the pot and doesn’t like to have her diaper on if she knows she has to go or if shes gonna go, especially poo. My aunt (bless her) is a little old and large so she can’t move that fast and sometimes tells her to go ahead and go poo or pee in her diaper. AJ says no.. and tries to get my aunt to make her help her. AJ tells her to “Hurry Hurry” when she wants to go. She’ll sit on the pot for nearly a hour to go tinkle.
Questions: Should I even bother rocking the boat about the “let her go in her diaper” issue? I feel its sort of counter intuitive to our goal. But I feel for my aunt.
She wears diapers when she’s out and about. Is that ok for this stage of the game? At this stage, what should I be doing for her when we are out?
Anyone ever have this kind of progress, how long is this phase?
If your kiddo had a potty how did you get them to use the big one? She’s been against in the past.
How often do you put them on the potty?
Huggies or someone has a deal for a pack of pull ups with a potty time watch. Is it worth it?
TIA

If she doesn't want to go in her diaper, that's a good sign. Aunty should not be telling her to go in them. I would get pull-ups, even for bed.
