Potty training questions re nap/bedtime training
I am starting that 3-day training on Saturday with Ryan. For those of you that read this, or those that have potty trained really, did you really go straight to underpants for naps and bedtime right off the bat?? That's the only part of the plan that makes me nervous!!

Re: Potty training questions?
Roman was 2.5 when we potty trained him. I never read that book or any other but we decided we were doing straight underwear all the time from the get go. He was fully trained within a week with minimal accidents at night. We are now training DD who is 2.5 and we were thinking we'd do the same. Not as easy as the first. She WILL NOT go poop on the potty and we were throwing out several panties so we decided to just do pull-ups. She always goes pee-pee on the potty (will even wake at night) but still poops in her pull-up. I guess the only advice I have is not one thing works for every kid so you may have to try various things. Good Luck!

Re: Potty training questions?
Thank you! I read the "guide" and want to follow it as much as possible to get this right, but I've read on here before that staying dry at night doesn't come right away. i just don't want him to do well during the day and then be up all night get sheet changes, and get discouraged with the process.
I took off Monday, and DH is off Tuesday - Wednesday - so hopefully if I'm consistent Saturday - Wednesday we'll be done?? He is about 29 months and has been peeing on the potty since 18 months. He just recently started asking to go, and is super excited about the 75 prs of underpants I bought him

Re: Potty training questions re nap/bedtime training
coincidentally, Elizabeth woke up dry the first day we started potty training her. She was dry 6 out of 7 nights that week but we kept her in pull ups anyway.
We didn't make the choice to keep her in panties at night - she did. After about 3 weeks of being potty trained, she didn't want to wear pull ups at night so rather than fight, we let her wear her panties. She was really good about calling me if she needed to use the bathroom in the middle of the night.
I bought my last pack of pull ups the first time I went to BRU to buy diapers for DS, assuming she'd regress a bit but she rarely ever wears them.
She wore panties for naps after the first few days... she loves her panties.
BTW, she wet the bed last night and wore a pull up for her non-existent nap today.

Re: Potty training questions re nap/bedtime training
We went right to underwear all day and at naps, still used pull ups at night.
In fact DS has been trained for about 6 weeks, 9 out of 10 times wakes up dry but we still put him in pull ups and its more for selfish reasons bc I dont want to be cleaning up and changing sheets at 3am.

Re: Potty training questions re nap/bedtime training
Naps yes....after a week. I still give her a pull up at night. But she wakes up dry almost everyday. Until it is everyday I won't risk it at night.
