Practical Question from a non-parent - Guradians
Do you have guardians for your children, god forbid, something happens? We're doing wills and our lawyer asked us to pick a guardian in advance (We hope to have children soon, TTCing). I think in general this is kind of weird, but am probably going to anyway - afterall, isn't a will kind of weird in itself. Anyway, I always thought one of my sister's b/c she is most like me, but she now lives in NC. DH doesn't want to choose someone outside NY and wants to go with his sister who has no kids. I was okay with that, and agree to a large degree, she also shares many things in common with me in regards to life choices, etc. - but I still wonder about my sister. Anyway, just curious if others have chosen, what went into your decision, etc. Sorry if too morbid for anyone, I prefer to think of it as practical.

Go with who is best for your RIGHT NOW. You can always change this in the future as circumstances change.

It is a very personal choice. I worked for an estate lawyer for a while and the one thing I would say is not to pick grandparents if possible.
My sister is DS' guardian, she is younger than me (25) and single, but god forbid, she would raise him the way we would want him raised (as oppsed to DS' sister who would have him practicing wicca )
