i love mine!! its so great to not have to get out of bed with every little peep. i just switch on the video feed and there she is, sleeping like a baby!!

Depends where the baby's room is. DC's room is next to us so I never had a monitor. If DC's room was on the other side of the house or on a different level, than yes, I would have bought a monitor.

my favorite thing - i don't thnik you need ti right away but it is so inmportant as you are sleep trainign - it is so much better if he is crying you can see that he is working himself asleep or sittting up - you can't go in because it makes it worse especally when he is almost asleep - but you also know when you should go in - the cries are different but not always - if he is laying down you know it is better to wait 30 seconds and see if he goes back to sleep - which my guy does - if i went in he would be up for a half hour at least

Having one....I feel like I couldn't survive without it. It's all I know so yes, IMO I think you really need one.
We don't mount it down to anything so we take it to grandma's house...we bring it anywhere DD will nap/sleep....meaning we literally can't live without it.

I don't think you really need it...I didn't have it with my first, but I will be getting one with baby #2, only because I will be running around after a 5 year old during the day and I will be afriad I won't here anything, where I will be able to see with a video monitor.
