There are a lot of options for preschool and you can choose to send your child from 2 on or not at all.
We are looking to send DS to a program next fall when he is a little over 2.

I started my kids at age 3 in nursery school and then at 4 in a pre-K. They did not go to "school" at ag 2, but there are programs for that age.

I think the best thing to do is a separation class with dc at age 2 and then preschool at 3! It really help to prepare them for the real thing(and mommy too)!!!

I even found a couple that start at 18 months! I think we will send DD starting at 2.

I just signed my son up for this. I really liked the place I chose. The director was so nice. My husband and I went there to check things out we spent like 2 hours there in the seperation 2 class. We really liked it and we know DS will like it too. The class holds up to 10 kids with 1 teacher and two assistants.
My DH's parents think he is too young at 2 but we don't. He really needs to interact with children his age and it's not like he is there all day. This class offers two days a week 2 hours each day. I think that's just perfect to get him started.

This is what we are doing except we were in a 1-hour a week non separation class in the same room the nursery is in.

I signed DD up for a pre-school at 2. Actually she was 23 months when she started. It took her some time to get used to for the first two months or so, but now she loves it. She goes 3 days a week for 3 hours each time.
