Trying to get people to think outside the box here: My FIL is one of the smartest men I've ever known. He has NO schooling past High School and "High School" was on a farm in Italy. Then, I've known people with degrees up the ying-yang and transcripts with straight A's who couldn't form a coherent sentence to save their life -- and have ZERO common sense. I guess it all depends on the person, JMHO.
i completely agree
I agree.
I think education is a wonderful thing, but not everything.
Both candidates are super intelligent, regardless of who has the better education.

Does not change my mind at all.
What if the Obamas had paraded five children across the stage, including a three month old infant and an unwed, pregnant teenage daughter?
what does this have to do with anything? I chose my candidate based on my beliefs and who I think is best suited IMO. I am a very conservative republican. So Obviously Mccain is better suited ofr me.

Re: Presidential Election-Educational Background
Doesn't change my mind.
You could take McCain and Obama and do years of professional experience and it would be strikingly different.
You could say the same with Palin and Biden.
I have a Masters degree and sadly, I'll never be half as smart as my great grandmother with an eighth grade education. It's the truth.

I can't help the way you are interpretting my posts.
I don't think we've had many exchanges so I can see why you would take it the "wrong" way...but I am as UNserious as they come...and even in my sarcasm (if you want to call it that I'll agree b/c I am uber sarcastic) it is usually in a joking and light hearted manner. *peacesignsmiley*

Well, I would think that a politician would be able to write their own speeches and he did this more than once.
That was rude, nasty, sarcastic and immature.
I am not saying I am changing anyone's opinions, just like no one is changing mine. Just putting facts out there that the liberal media likes to sweep under the rug.
rarely do ANY of them write their own speeches... Did yo watch the "comedy routines at the charity dinner last night? They definitely did not write those

Why not just say who you are?
If you're so proud of your candidate, why not stand up for them and just be yourself?
Why hide? It makes no sense...

Well I'd bet the farm that neither one of them writes their own speeches....they have writers who do it--and then they go over them to make sure they are okay with the content and such---but neither one sits there and writes the entire speech and not have a speech writer assist them.

One of McCain's speech writers is named Joseph Chappel Source
As well this article from last year---lists speech writers for both canidates: Source
Trust me--no politician writes their own speeches these days.

Re: Presidential Election-Educational Background
Sorry, but I EXPECT anyone holding a position in the White House to have more degrees than I do. The fact that Sarah Palin went from one school to another to another to another reflects something. I know that education is what you make of it and it shouldn't matter where you go but a semester here and a semester there just doesn't cut it for VP.
Go on Sweetest of Peas...let me hear it!

Re: Presidential Election-Educational Background
everyone knows they have speech writers - the point is that he used words and parts of a famous JFK speech that people obviously recognized. Not that a NEW speech was written by someone else
BIG difference

True, but floating from school to school to school is no better, imo.

Noooooo...dude, she could be a member of Mensa, attended Sarah Lawrence, Georgetown and MIT and I still wouldn't vote McCain!
