Progesterone Levels......question
I posted earlier that I went in for my 2nd sono this morning and like I said, everything looks great with the baby. He/she grew so much in one week and they saw the yolk sac and heartbeat.
Anyway, they called this afternoon with my blood results and my hcg numbers look great but my progesterone (while in normal range) is still a little on the lower end. She said my level was 12 and they like to see it about 10 so it's "normal" but kinda low.
I am on progesterone supplements which they now told me to increase to 2X/day for the next 3 wks. but I was wondering if any of you knew you're progesterone levels early on in your pregnancy. Should I be concerned about my number at almost 7wks. preggers? The RE told me not to worry, everything is fine and clearly the baby looks good right now but you know how it is......can't help but to worry!!
Any insight to share??? Thanks!!!!!

Re: Progesterone Levels......question
My progesterone at my first appointment was "6" and my doctor wanted it to be 12 or higher. So I went on the suppositories twice a day until I was 12 weeks. I was 6 weeks pregnant at the first blood test and 8 weeks with my first sonogram. I am now 20 weeks and baby is doing great!!

Re: Progesterone Levels......question
Mine was on the lower end. I never had any preogesterone "helpers" and I am now 19 weeks.

Re: Progesterone Levels......question
i am terrible with the numbers...but i know that with this pregnancy i was on the lower end (still normal but lower than my doc wanted to see) so at 7 weeks i was put on the progesterone suppositories twice a day too. as not fun as they might seem, they're worth it! i'm not 30 weeks and 4 days (yikes) and everything is PERFECT so far....so, as you can see, they definitely help!!!

I am happy for you that everything is going well. I'm sure I will be fine too and although taking these suppositories is not the highlight of my day I will do whatever it takes to ensure my baby is okay so no complaints here!! Thanks again!!!

Re: Progesterone Levels......question
My progesterone was on the lower end of normal as well so the doc put me on oral supplements ..I am almost 9 weeks... I think I have to take them for 2 more weeks...no big deal..it was more a precuationary measure...
whatever helps our little beans grow strong!!!
