Provera Induced AF - Girls w/ PCOS???
I have PCOS and my RE had me take Provera to induce AF and it is now CD 6 and I still have AF and pretty heavy at times, definately not as heavy as it was Saturday - Monday but still what I would consider a heavy flow and I am, sorry really TMI, passing ALOT of clots.
Is this normal?

I always pass alot of clots when I get AF. I think it's because I don't get it often, so i'm cleaning out. (sorry- gross)

me too. The bleeding was insane the last time (like changing a super plus tampon every half hour) but I think it was more because I hadn't had a period before that for like 8 months so there was a lot of built up blood that the provera helped get rid of.

For me it varies. I've had it last as little as a week to as much as a month or more. I don't know if that's "normal" though even for pcos so it'll probably be much shorter than that for you I hope.

Thanks girls it is much lighter today so hopefully it will be almost gone by tomorrow for my internal sono or at least completely gone by next tuesday when I have to get my HSG.
I can't believe how killer some of these cramps are. I never really had cramps when I was on BCP or w/ the 4 a year periods I am used to so that on top of the bleeding was making me feel so hopeless

Re: Provera Induced AF - Girls w/ PCOS???
You generally don't have cramps with BCP because the hormones are not released. The only reason you get AF at all is because you stop taking the BCP. Provera is just a high dose progesterone, so you are getting AF from a shot of progesterone/then no progesterone. Which brings on a "real" AF. BTW, my period on Provera is usually about 5-6 days, heavy with clots at first and then light after.

Re: Provera Induced AF - Girls w/ PCOS???
Thanks again today is day 6 and I am sitting here trying to convince myself it is almost over. I am usually not a baby about pain and being uncomfortable but damn this is draining me.
