Cool! Is everything staying? They're going to prune them? I hope everything goes well!
Will you take some before and afters? LOVE before and afters.
We have 3 monster tall & weak pitch pines that are leaning towards the house coming down. I was able to sacrifice one because I love the look of the bark outside my bedroom window.
There's also a sasafrass (?) coming down & all their little "volunteers".
ALL trees on the property are being pruned!
Shaping our beautiful American Holly, shaping our Arborvitae and all of our fondation plantings.
Cutting back our Forsythia in the back & transplanting a few on the left side of the house to the back.
There's lots of odd things we have going on...including grape vines from our neighbors yard that literally took over our yard & is suffocating our pink dogwood along with trailing down our wires onto our white dogwood.
I'm sooo excited to get the trees pruned. We get sooo much shade that our roof is really taking a beating. It's green filled w/tons of moss. Probably killing the life of our roof. We actually had a powerwashing scheduled last year that will need to be done this Spring.
Before & Afters are a MUST! I plan on taking some pictures this weekend if the weather holds up.

WOW. That's a lot of work. I know you said you have something like 2 dozen trees, I was cringing at the thought of what kind of money you would have to pay. I'm glad you're looking on the bright (hah!) side of this though.
Every time I talk about their work, I hear something new. Like that they're going to transplant your shrubs for you! That's awesome. I heard that Forsythia is pretty resilient and spreads easily. But that sounds like the least of your problems.
I never knew how big a problem vines were until I started noticing the english ivy killing off trees along the parkways & in people's yards. People plant it as a fast groundcover but anything that spreads that fast and easily is going to be a problem! I'm glad you can control your neighbor's bad decision, but I hope that it doesn't start a problem with them.
You know, we have staining on our roof from a tree that used to be there and I asked my inspector if I could get them powerwashed off. He said no, that it would damage the roof.
At the time I thought it was strange, because if the roof is strong enough to keep water out of my home, why wouldn't it be strong enough to stand up to a powerwashing? My roof is about 13 years old - maybe that's what he meant. I should look into it - the staining isn't THAT bad for me, I just don't like the way it looks since the roof is light gray and so is the house. It's really noticeable.
Anyhow, you sound like you're pretty darn excited. I'm excited FOR you and I hope they exceed your expectations like they did mine!
