Putting my current job on my resume
I am in such conflict with this and I dont know what to do so any advice would be great. I have been at my current job 3 months and I want out. Do I put my current job on my resume or do I leave it as leaving my previous job in june and then when a potential new employer call explain that I this isnt what thought, etc and then of course if they ask where I am tell them? TIA

Re: Putting my current job on my resume
If I were an employer, I wouldn't like the fact that you left your current job off your resume. You will always have a chance to explain your situation anyway so why not just put it on?

Re: Putting my current job on my resume
I am in the same situation, I have been here 6 mos. now. When interviewing and asked that question, I explain how when I accepted my current job, I thought it was a great opportunity but over the past 6 mos. I have come to learn that it is not as challenging as I had hoped for it to be and I feel that my expertise could be better utilized.

Re: Putting my current job on my resume
I'm sort of in the same boat too. I think people understand when a job isn't what you expected. As for listing it, since you left your last job in June - I would list that only, leave off this current one for now.

Re: Putting my current job on my resume
Def list your current job. Otherwise they'll think you haven't been doing anything for the past 3 months and you may never be given the opportunity to explain yourself.

Re: Putting my current job on my resume
How long were you at other jobs? I would only see this as a problem if you had a pattern of not staying at jobs very long. If it's just this one job - you can easily explain that it is not what you thought it was going to be.

Re: Putting my current job on my resume
do you have a family/friend that would say you worked for them for 3 months? Then you could list them instead of your current job. If I disliked my current job and only worked there for 3 months, I personally would leave it out.

ooh, wouldn't do that. falsifying anything on a CV could be grounds for dismissal, even years after you're hired.
put it on your resume, and say exactly what was suggested above... that the job was not as challenging as you expected.......
