Q for families that have more than 2 children...meal time
Do you sit at your kitchen table or dining room table for meals ???
Right now, its me, DH, DS, DD and my brother ( lives w/ us, he is disabled) = 5 If we have another DC that will make 6...
We eat at our kitchen table now that has 4 chairs and DD sits in her hi-chair, but not sure what we will do when she grows out of her hi-chair and/or we have another DC...
Can't really see sitting at the diningroom table every night for dinner
Do you have a 6 chair kitchen table ?? Silly question I know, but I think about these things

CAn't you double up chairs on one side, for the kids?
That's what we do when we have other people over. Though, I hope to buy a bigger kitchen table, our current one is kind of small and we do not eat at the DR unless there are a lot of people over or it's a holiday.

I actually thought of replacing the chairs because my table is in between a square and a circle and can easily accomodate more chairs...
The thing is, my table isn't wood or something universal ...Its glass with sort of a scrolled rought iron beige colored base and the chairs match it I don't know how easy it would be to find something that would blend...

Ahhhh! As a temporary solution, I would just buy a 1 one chair and make do. Eventually, I would get a new set (at least that is what we are doing).

We don't have more than 2 kids, but we have 6 chairs and could actually fit 2 more. It's a square table.

I do not have a formal dining room. Our kitchen, DR and LR is all one room in the shape of a L. We have a table that seats 6. We are a family of 6 so that's perfect but when company comes over we break out the folding chairs.

Re: Q for families that have more than 2 children...meal time
Actually, we do have a six person kitchen table, but with the way the table is set up and with the shape of our kitchen, only five seats really work. That will work out for us since our completed family will have five memebers. However, if there were some miracle or we got a tenant , then I would probably enjoy eating at the dining room table. It would be an excuse to use that room (it adjoins the kitchen anyhow), and a reason to keep it clutter free!
