Q for Trump People
I preface this by saying I am a Hillary supporter so I am coming at this with a different perspective but I am curious, for those of you who did support Trump, are you happy with the people he is choosing for his transition team and cabinet so far? His actions so far? Is it what you expected? What you were hoping for? Why/why not? I stopped reading internet comments and would be curious to hear the perspective of the other side.

I am also curious especially about all his talk of keeping lobbyists out while he now maybe filling his cabinet with them because there is no one else.

Q for Trump People
I'm not a Trump supporter, but WNYC's Brian Lehrer did a segment today in which Trump supporters weighed in. Check it out -- the call-in segment begins at about 10 minutes in: http://www.wnyc.org/story/what-we-know-about-steve-bannon

Seriously give it a rest. This site has been nothing but people screaming "racist! misogynist! xenophobe!" at Trump supporters for a full week now. Why would anything they have to say even be listened to with an open mind?
And I say this as someone who voted for Hillary. The amount of vitriol being spewed on this website has been staggering, and none of it coming from Trump supporters. I know Long Island is mostly liberal but this is just... sad.

LI actually voted for Trump. Nassua voted for Clinton, but not by as much as Suffolk voted for Trump. http://www.newsday.com/long-island/long-island-vote-for-donald-trump-hillary-clinton-varied-widely-1.12595076
I do agree about people not being able to post about Trump without being attacked. It isn't allowing for a dialog, and an understanding of *why* people voted for him, and what everyone can do to improve things. However, 4 and 8 years ago, it was the same thing, from both sides. Not everyone remembers everything that went on here, because a lot of threads got deleted by TPTB fairly quickly, so unless you were on here a lot, you would totally miss all of the anger.
and BTW, the vitriol on here is coming from both sides recently, as well.....

Oh trust me, I was here (under a different name). And post-election none of Romney's supporters were going "America, what have you done???" and claiming that anyone who voted for Obama hated the USA and wanted Muslims to run the country
Maybe I am not on every thread but it seems to me that Trump supporters are trying to defend themselves and their choices, I haven't seen any name calling on their end.

Re: Q for Trump People
I'm just curious as to what your objective is. Is it really to gain another perspective? To be open mind and try to understand someone else's point of view? Or is it a back hand way of trying to get someone who voted for Trump to say "Oh God, I never thought about this... What have I done?" Genuinely curious.....

Re: Q for Trump People
I am the OP. I clearly have a difference of opinion politically but I am also curious to see what Trump supporters here think of his decisions so far. Ie: people who voted for Trump to shake things up and "drain the swamp" may not be as enthusiastic about reports that he seems to be rewarding those who were loyal to him and tapping people like Cruz, Guiliani, Carson, etc even if those people did not ultimately accept. But people who are very right-leaning or who like Trump for other things he has said might like his choice of someone like Bannon. Also, thoughts on EPA and DOE choices, etc.

We apparently commented at the same time so my post below came through before I saw yours. Setting aside the fact that I dont think he was prepared or ever expected to win, I was curious to see what he would actually do and who he would choose. I would expect, as a democrat, to not like his choices but I will say I was surprised by many of them (other people I am less familiar with but learning more about now). I was just curious if the people who do/did support him (or who chose to vote for him) are happy with the choices he is making -- if that is what you hoped for or were expecting.

I'm not a fan of bannon, nor of his picks for education
For finance he approached Jamie Dimon though, which I think would have been excellent

Thank you for your comment. That was what I am looking for. I too dislike Bannon. I am not sure how I would feel about Jamie Dimon for finance.

I was just stating it was quiet. This is the first political thread I commented on yet. I have never said anything negative about Trump or Trump supporters. So the hate you are spewing right now is just on your mind I guess. You are here complaining and using rolling eye emojis, yet you never answered the original question posted. You are turning a question that could be a valid discussion (who is and who is not suited for his political team) into sides of some sort. I'm sorry you feel that "liberal long islanders" are offending you and other people on this forum. They weren't me so don't come at me with a "give it a rest". Everyone (on both sides) want to yell at each other but we should be focused on the actual facts, like who is and isn't a good choice for his team. OUR TEAM, since this team will be making choices for ALL of America.

I think part of the problem has to do with Trump supporters' denial of Bannon as a white nationalist.

I was glad Ben Carson said no. I didn't think he was a good fit and he openly admitted it.

I'm not crazy about Bannon personally because I don't think you should go around referring to progressive women from the 7 sisters school as a bunch of dykes. But I think it's only been a week and a half and you need to give him a chance to get situated and take office. Of course Hilary was better prepared as far as the administrative aspect of it but it doesn't mean that she was better prepared to be a leader.

It's silent because people are tired of being called Racist , misogynistic etc... You ( collective you) do that relentlessly to people for months, don't be surprised when nobody responds anymore. Especially since the election is over and there is no reason to.

To be honest I took it the same way as wakemeup, as in "It's clearly quiet because Trump supporters must know they made a bad decision now." If you hadn't put the "I love" maybe people would think you didn't have that intent.

Re: Q for Trump People
To go back to the original question I also wanted to state that I wasn't full against guiliani having a position except that he said he WOULDN'T take a position so to go back on that bothers me. I do not want Sarah Palin to have any role, I cannot stand her. She is also unfortunately the only woman I heard mentioned for a role.
