Question about a broken nose.
So, my mother fell flat on her face the other night  She broke her nose and she has so much bruising. Does anyone know how long this takes to go away?? TIA!

thanks Janice! Shes not in that much pain-she even refused painkilers-but the bruising, shes so embarassed to go out :(

Your poor Mom. I'm so sorry she broke her nose. As far as the healing it takes a couple weeks for the bruising to fade away. The first week looks the worst. I hope she feels better real fast.
ETA: Have her take Vitamin C everyday. That aids healing.

thats what i figured..a few weeks. she just called me crying bc shes embarrassed to go out! the first night was the worst-omg.
ill tell her to take the vitamin C

ouch! your poor mom.
i wish her a quick recovery... the only thing i can think of is good makeup.
you almost want it to be much colder, so she could wrap a scarf around her face and not look out of place.
would tattoo cover up hide it?

About two weeks with the second week not looking nealry as bad as the first week. The swelling will be molstly down by the second week with some bruising visble by the eyes.

try arnica gel (available at health food stores/GNC). it helps in pain relief & promotes healing of bruises too.

Your poor Mom! Tell her to go to the doctor and get an x-ray asap!
My little sister broke her nose a couple of weeks ago and now has a deviated septum. She has to get surgery in January.

A friend of mine is a makeup artist and had to do a wedding party once where the bride's mom fell the week before the wedding and did the same thing. They called her ASAP to let her know and she brought some Dermablend makeup, it worked PERFECTLY, I saw the pix she looked awesome. She makes sure to ALWAYS have some in her makeup kit now. Ulta and Macy's both sell it!!!

During the summer my son cracked me in the nose HARD with his head (by accident). It was kind of inconclusive whether or not it had a slight break but judging by the 2 black eyes I had the doctor said there probably was a slight fracture (there's nothing they can do for it anyway). The bruising lasted for about a month but the pain lasted for several months.

She did! we MADE her go to the hosp friday night-they took xrays but they said they couldnt tell if it was broken or not, but probably is. (they said it was too swollen).
Ohhh i hope she doenst get taht !!
