Question about bumpers in cribs
Okay, so I didn't put a bumper in Gavin's crib. Everything I read says not too. But today I put him in his crib and when DH when upstairs to get him, he said his little leg was stuck in the bars of the crib. Which scares me.
Should I put the bumper in? He almost 6 months old?

Re: Question about bumpers in cribs
I dunno... I've had the whole set in the crib - bumpers and all since we came home. I've had no issues with her and them.

Re: Question about bumpers in cribs
DS wasn't in his crib until he was 5 mos so maybe that makes a difference but we ALWAYS had regular bumpers in. I asked the ped and he said given at that point he was very mobile the possibility of him suffocating on the bumper was pretty nil. For us it was SO MUCh safer to have the bumpers on. My DS was and is all over the crib - he used to roll around like crazy and hit the sides and try to shove his limbs through the slats - if it weren't for the bumpers there would have been many bumps and bruises also when he first started standing...Anyway, i plan to leave them in until he tries to use them to get out!

Re: Question about bumpers in cribs
Same thing with us, we put him in his crib about 3 weeks ago, so he was in his bassinet for about 5 months.
Can you tell I am new at this? I am going to go ahead and put the bumper in.

I had the same worries when he first went in the crib but when I saw him rolling around and heard the sound it made when his head hit the side I put the bumpers in right away. He actually loves the bumpers - he always snuggles his head and body against them when he falls asleep. I think if I took them out he would be upset

Re: Question about bumpers in cribs
DD is 10 months and I've had the bumpers in the whole time. She rolls all over the place when she goes to sleep....so they have to be in otherwise she'd bang her head.
