Question about food for 1st birthday party
We are having about 40 adults and 6 kids for the twins' birthday party. We are definitely getting two heros (italian and american). How many different hot trays would you get? Would you do all full trays or maybe some that are half? What are some of your personal favorites? TIA!

Re: Question about food for 1st birthday party
we had chicken fingers (for the kids), grilled chicken with veggies, shrimp oreganato, baked ziti, eggplant rotini. We only had about 25 people..so we got half trays.

Re: Question about food for 1st birthday party
We had about that many people (and they were BIG eaters).
We had:
Appetizers: Pigs in blankets: 1 tray a la costco: all were gone.
Hamburgers: 2 "trays" with about 27 hamburgers per tray. Most were gone... we may have had 3 left.
Hot dogs: 1 tray: we bought 3 packs of hot dogs: ALL GONE!
Prepared food. We did "food for 30 people" from a local place. 1 huge tray of rice, 1 tray of salad, 1 tray of salmon, 1 of chicken, 1 of beef.
The kids (ranging from 1 yr to 5 years old ate EVERYTHING).
Interestingly, the salmon was completely GONE before I even got to see it on the table. The KIDS ate most of it (really.. witnessed by me... some weird kids at our party). The chicken was left over. We threw out most of the rice. The salad was totally gone.
