question about freezing meat
Do you think I can bread pork chops or chicken cutlets and THEN freeze them until I'm ready to cook? I just had a baby and I went back to work so I'm try to make dinner prep as easy as possible. TIA

Re: question about freezing meat
I wouldn't not sure if you could...I think I would rather bread, cook, THEN freeze.
The raw egg used to bread being frozen makes me feel it wouldn't be okay.

Re: question about freezing meat
I think that the breading would get too soggy as the whole thing defrosts, making frying more difficult. I would guess that the breading would separate from the meat.
Cook then freeze.

Re: question about freezing meat
I have never done it, but my MIL breaded and froze some thin chicken cutlets and gave them to us frozen.
They surprisingly cooked up really well. I let them fully defrost before I was ready to use them and then carefully separated them and fried. the breading stayed on and they still fried up pretty crispy - they weren't as crispy as freshly breaded ones, but they weren't soggy either.
so it can be done!

Agree. You can do it both ways, but I will usualy pan fry them on both sides then freeze them. When I defrost, just stick it in the oven.
