DH is 32. I'm 31. We qualify for the rebate and I don't see us coming close to the cap any time soon. With that said we own our home, bought last year. In the past year we also are carrying the burden of two homes upstate. Can you say STRESSSSSED to the MAX!
We don't make much (compared to many on this board) but we did buy our home almost 12 years ago and don't have a very high mortgage but still have almost the same bills as others and a child in daycare so we are don't save alot of money either.

combined we make under 150k. So we do qualify for the rebate. we own a home. Some weeks are easy and some are rough.

We will not qualify for the rebate. We live comfortably and try not to go beyond our means. I will be able to be a SAHM in the fall and I know how lucky I am. However, I can see how easy it is to get behind because the more you make the more you spend.
I also agree that this rebate is a bad idea (even if I was able to qualify!!).

I always say on paper, we look pretty darned good...
Then comes child support, daycare, and getting ourselves out of debt...
