Question about male infertility
If the woman has had all the tests done and everything is working for her, but the man has some issues do you think conception with the help of an RE and clomid alone or with IUI has a higher percentage of working sooner than later? Is it harder if the woman has the issues? Am I making sense?

Re: Question about male infertility
I think that IUI + clomid has a much better success rate than BD alone if you're dealing with male factor since they're putting the sperm right into your uterus....less traveling to do for the swimmers.

Re: Question about male infertility
We had some issues with the swimmers and just did our first month of IUIs with no medication. I just got a faint BFP this morning. The "wash" that they do on the sperm is able to get the best swimmers and the insemination part gets them right up there by the egg.

Re: Question about male infertility
We're dealing w/MF as well, and the IUI's weren't working for us. We had motility and morphology issues, so IVF was really the only way to go.
good luck!

Re: Question about male infertility
It really depends on the type of MF you are dealing with. My DH had great swimmers, however after numerous SA's the morphology ranged 0-1%. IUI's were a total waste of time for us

Re: Question about male infertility
We were advised to completely forgo IUI and move directly to IVF. My DH has low counts and his morphology is in the 0-1% range as well. I think it all depends on the severity of the MF.

Same here. We were advised against IUI. DH had bi-lateral varicoceles and low count and morph. We were told success rate with IUI was very slim so we went straight to IVF. IUI is probalby a good route if you have slight male factor.....not severe. Good Luck
