Question about painting kitchen cabinets
If your cabinets are already painted and you want to paint them a different color - is it okay to just paint over it or do you still need to sand and prime??
(we want to change the hardware but they painted around the hardware so either way we must sand/prime those specific areas)

Re: Question about painting kitchen cabinets
I would sand them down and prime them. This way YOU know they are painted the right way. If the previous owners didn't paint them the right way, they might start pealing over time. Just a thought. GL!

Re: Question about painting kitchen cabinets
I agree, sand and prime anyway. I'm the queen of cutting corners wherever I can with work to our house, but with painting, I've learned the hard way that it's never wise to skip a step. I painted my cabinets and if I ever paint over them again, which I'm sure I will, I will most certainly sand and prime again.
