Question about TD bank and Visa gift cards
I have a TD credit card, but not a checking or savings account.
Can I still get a gift card there?
I already called, the customer svc rep said that she WASN'T SURE and I'd need to check with the branch
So since all the branches are closed right now can anyone tell me?
If not, where else can I get a Visa gift card?

Re: Question about TD bank and Visa gift cards
I am pretty sure you can get visa gift cards at CVS, Rite Aid maybe the supermarket or any bank. I don't think you need a bank account to get a gift card but I am not sure.

Thank you - but those are set amounts, I think no bigger than $100? And I need something bigger.

Re: Question about TD bank and Visa gift cards
You need an account bc they take the $ for the gift card right out of the account. This was the case around xmas when I went to get a few.

That's what I was thinking... ugh.
I need a fairly large GC - but it has to be Visa/Amex/Mastercard. Any suggestions, anyone??

Re: Question about TD bank and Visa gift cards
If you don't have a bank you can go to purchase one, do you have time to order online?
American Express has larger denominations available online. And according to the visa gift card website you can order visa cards from US Bank without having an account there.

Re: Question about TD bank and Visa gift cards
I always get American Express gift checks as class gifts. I like them better b/c you can deposit them rather than having to spend them like a card. Not sure if they only come in 100s, but they usually get multiple ones rather than 1 for a specific amount. So let's say they are giving 300, I would get 3 checks rather than one for 300.

Re: Question about TD bank and Visa gift cards
Do you know anyone with a TD account? I've deposited a check for someone I knew wouldn't bounce it and then purchased a TD gift card for them to give.

That's what I was going to suggest. You can get giftcards elsewhere - like CVS and whatnot - but, usually those have a fee associated with them.
