Question about the Northern State, near Commack
OK, this has been bugging me for a while now.. what is that stone building that is on the median? The one that is all closed up- everytime I drive by it, I wonder what it used to be! Please- someone enlighten me!

It used to be a service station...years ago. It's been closed up forever, but you can still see the ramps to go in and out.

Better yet, do you know there used to be toll booths on the parkways?
I think the only one standing is on the Wantagh, just before Merrick Road.
