question about tomato plants..

I am by no means a gardener so i have no clue!
My FIL planted some tomato plants in my yard which i of course had no time to maintain because i work 6 days a week and have no time.
So my question is, what do i do with them now at the end of the season. Do i rip them out of the ground and plant new ones next year?

Yes you take them out and plant new ones in a different spot next year.
