Question for minivan drivers
We are in the process of shopping for a new car.....currently looking at suv's and minivans. DH told me to sit in the drivers seat of a Toyota Sienna today, because I might find it too big (length wise). For those who drive minivans, did you find it hard to adjust to a bigger car? Is it much harder to maneuver than a car? Thanks so much.

Re: Question for minivan drivers
Not at all. I went from driving a Mustang to driving a mini van. I never had any problems. It is high up and you can see everything.

Re: Question for minivan drivers
It does take an adjustment to figure out the parking but once you get that there is no difference.

Re: Question for minivan drivers
I went from a Honda Accord to the Toyota Sienna. I parallel park, back into tight spots, etc. The back up camera and sensors help me a lot. I love the height over a sedan and feel very comfortable driving.

Re: Question for minivan drivers
I also went from an Accord to a Sienna. I was freaked out at the prospect of driving a minivan because I thought the Accord was big! I was online comparing dimensions of SUVs/sedans/different minivans, etc. like a lunatic. The length looks like it's going to be a monster, but it's really only a matter of a couple of inches.
OK, so the minute I drove it I was right at home! NO adjustment period. I can even parallel with the best of them, but I'm good at that anyhow...a lifetime of living in Queens, I guess. I frequently remember this little tip the salesman gave us: the the rear window is essentially the end of the minivan and the front is the front. In other words, unlike an Accord for example, when you gauge distance, etc. you need to account for trunk space at the back or a longer front end. With a minivan you don't have that.
Good luck! I LOOOOOOVE my Sienna!
