Question for moms of girls.....Hair related
When did you take your DD for their first haircut? And was her hair short or longer?
Paige's hair is out of control sometimes, but I dont want to make it any shorter, its finally, getting thicker and longer. I put it in pig tail and clips, but she takes them out all the time.

I haven't yet... and she's almost 20 months. Her hair is curly and a bit out of control on top, but I feel like the longer it gets, the easier it will be to pull back.... sorry that doesn't really answer your question!!!

She got her first hair cut over the summer, she was about 2 and a half. He hair was really long, halfway down her back when wet. I just cut it again recently to above her shoulders, so much easier!!!

You answered my question....I just feel that once it starts to grow past her shoulders then we can get it cut. But now its still on the short side.

Ella's almost 2.5, and I just trimmed her hair for the first time at Thanksgiving. Its not that long, but I felt like the ends were getting dry and split.

Still havent caved in and cut it.. Im hoping to avoid having too. For a bit I thought I might have to give a trim b/c the back had a damaged spot from sleeping on, but conditioner fixed it.. Her bangs are a bit long but i just comb to side.

DD is 23 months and we haven't cut hers either. She has curls in the back and I'm afraid if we get it cut they will go away. But, the longer it gets the easier it becomes to pull back or to do some funky do.

Re: Question for moms of girls.....Hair related
I just took DD to get a haircut last week. She's 13 months old. It was getting in her eyes and the back was getting ratty looking. She just got a trim and it looks so much better now. You can barely tell she got it cut but it looks neater.

I agree hold off. I've had DD's hair cut twice already and only know I realize that I need to let it grow out before I start cutting it to "style" it. It's almost long enough now to put it all in a ponytail.

Re: Question for moms of girls.....Hair related
After seeing her hair today I say No to cutting it. What I think you might want to do is get the baby gel and put on the ends of her pigtails...KWIM... Before Gillys hair goes in pigtails I soak her head and slick it back tight. Then I take my finger and roll it around the pigtail part...it usually stays very tamed and together. The gel does work though if the above doesnt.
