Question for moms regarding pumping and BF
I was wondering if anyone used the Lansinoh double electric breast pump. Baby Bargains gives it great ratings but I wanted to see if anyone had any input on this. What pump do you/did you use and do you recommend it?
Thanks!

Re: Question for moms regarding pumping and BF
I believe the Lansinoh and the Ameda Purely Yours are the same pump......I have the Ameda and love it. The hospital I delivered at used the Ameda Elite pump (which I rented for the first month) so I was able to use all the same parts and I was told by the LC that they switched to the Ameda Pumps because no milk goes in the tubing. A lot of ladies recommend the Medela Pump in Style which is supposed to be a great pump as well......I was looking to spend a little less for a double electric and thats how I ended up with the Ameda (also rated highly in Baby Bargains) HTH!

Re: Question for moms regarding pumping and BF
I used Pump in Style for over 3 months pumping three times a day at work. I was able to BF DS exclusively until he was 6-mths. I stopped only bc I couldn't stand pumping anymore.

Re: Question for moms regarding pumping and BF
Thanks for the feedback ladies. I feel bad putting an expensive pump on the registry which is why I am stuck between the Lansinoh and the Medela Pump in style. I will have to pump once I go back to work and want a pump that will last with a few pumping sessions a day.

This is what I have & I like it too!
Bu tif the other is less expensive & does the job, why not! I sent DH to but one the night I came home because DS stayed an extra day in the NICU and I NEEDED to pump that night. Had I researched a bit better, maybe I would have gotten the lesser expensive one.

Re: Question for moms regarding pumping and BF
Given the high quality ratings on that pump I tried to find it when I bought mine. Not only couldn't I find that one, I couldn't find the name brand version Ameda, so I got the Medela PIS. I'm happy with the PIS, but I'm sure I would have been just as happy with the other.

Re: Question for moms regarding pumping and BF
If you are going to pump you want a good pump. They are expensive but it's already a hassle so the easier/faster you can do it the better.
I had the PIP advanced and loved it.
Now, as far as the registry. Wait until you have the baby. Some stores won't let you return it even if if the box is sealed (BBB I think?). In any cases, DO NOT OPEN THE BOX.
Usually people do not buy a pump. I think our friends told us by experience that people don't like buying this item.
Just put some GC on your registry so you can buy it later if you stick to BF.

Re: Question for moms regarding pumping and BF
I got the Avent ISIS IQ because I didn't want to invest in a $$$ pump just incase bf'ing didn't work out. It was recommended by my sister who used it for 6 months. It is working out great for me also - its been 6 weeks now.

I loved it, but I had a very difficult time producing milk and was pumping air for the first week or so. I highly recommend renting one either through the hospital or an LC first. That way you know for certain since pumps are not returnable.

I used the Lansinoh for 13 months and it was great! It is exactly the same as the Ameda Purely Yours, just a different color. If you are looking to save a little money or if you are not sure if pumping is going to work out for you, I highly recommend it.

Thanks for recommending renting first...I plan on pumping the first few weeks, but def don't want to invest in one until I know I will be able to produce milk, etc!

Same here, except I have the duo. It's been working out great.
