question for parents - do you need a tub?
If you are thinking about resale, I agree 100% that the tub should stay. However, if you do decide to get rid of the tub I will say that my 15 month old daughter has been taking showers for about 2 months now. It can be a pain, and usually requires two people, but she always takes them with me and our shower stall is very large. So yes, kids can be taught to shower and from a young age, but there's no way I would have tried to shower with her until she could stand and walk around by herself.

Re: question for parents - do you need a tub?
I don't think you NEED it but its nice to have. My DD went from the Eurotub at age 2y10m right to the shower. I NEVER give her baths.........ever. She takes a shower all the time.

You definitely need a tub with children. If you happen to have a bigger child, they will be in the infant tub until 8 months or so & then there's no way to.shower a 8 month old. My 3.5 yr old will not take a shower & still takes baths.

Yes, having a tub with kids is useful. As long as you have one tub in the house, you should be good.

At least 1 tub in the house is a must. We have 1 year old twins and the thought of them showering together is comical! ;) We couldn't purchase a house that didn't have a tub.

I have 2 kids. It would be very difficult not to have a tub.

Yes! We bought a house with no tub and had to put one in and it was a pain. You said the place has one tub already though so why not use that one?

Re: question for parents - do you need a tub?
For resale you really want a tub. Those baby baths are nice but my girls were out of them at 6 months. Many kids don't like showers very young bc they don't like the water in their heads so not sure where you would bathe your child inbetween those stages.

I don't need a tub. DD went from the baby tub to showers with the hand held showerhead.

Re: question for parents - do you need a tub?
Short answer- yes you need a tub if you have kids. I know when I was looking for a house if the bathroom didn't have one I would have passed on the house.

Re: question for parents - do you need a tub?
You could put a baby/kid tub in the shower and let it fill up. Ds has been showering since 15 months and we hardly give him a bath since.;(he is now almost 3)
If you have at least one tub in the house i think its fine
