question for those who have done, or are doing, couch to 5k

i've read the info and i think this is something i want to try. i like how it progresses and i remember really enjoying running, back when i did it.

question for those who have tried it: how did you keep track of the time without staring at your watch? i'd like to try for it to be a seamless as possible.

I did it really old school lol. I ran with a stop watch and held it in my hand and was able to look at it whenever I needed to. Since the intervals are short in the beginning (60 or 90 seconds) it was the easiest thing for me.

But I know that their are podcasts that you can download to your ipod and it tells you when to run/walk. I don't know a lot about it though.

ETA: the program is great though!

do you have an ipod? there are podcasts you can download that tell you when to run and when to walk. Robert Ullrey, I think? If you have an iphone there's also a C25K app that's pretty good.

I recommend one where you can use your own playslist. I did not like Robert Ulley's music at all.

Also, after the first 4 weeks or so, it gets much easier to keep track of the time b/c you are running for longer periods of time. I actually started making my own playlists then. Good luck! I love the C25K

the app for the droid says that it will play (the queue to let you know time is up) will sound over any music you already have.

i'm going to play with it, tonight

glad you were able to find an app! the one i have for my iphone was much better than the ullrey podcasts because you could use your own music. it might seem hard at first, but if you stick with it, it gets easier as you go along and you can repeat weeks if you need to. good luck!

Re: question for those who have done, or are doing, couch to 5k

i just played with the app. the way it works on my droid is as follows:

* use any music program/app that you like (i prefer pandora)

* then turn on C25K app

* it will start counting down the time AS the music plays

* when it reaches a time when you have to do something different, you hear a loud noise, like a gong.

it's not the most pleasant sound, but it gets the point across... it's time to do something different!

since i'm working on finals, this week, i won't start the program until a week from today. but i'm so excited Chat Icon

oh, before i forget. the name of the app is C25K

if you google "GoNicoleYourself" you should find a blog of podcasts using popular music.

Sounds like the one I use on the ITouch. I like it way better. I am just going to make a bunch of different 30 min play lists.

I need to "restart". Chat Icon
