Question for those who have installed central air

DH and I would really like to get some quotes, but we have no idea who to call or what to expect as far as pricing. The prices we've heard from friends and people we've talked to have ranged from $6K to $15K, so we're really not sure what to expect. We know it depends on the size of the house (we have a ranch)

Who did you use? And if you don't mind sharing, what did you pay or were you quoted? Please FM me if you don't want to post.

TIA.

Re: Question for those who have installed central air

we have a 2,400 sq foot raised ranch and only did the main floor (the lower level is always cool even on the hottest days) and we paid $12k. We had estimates from $10k - $15k. We went with the middle guy because his company has a great reputation for good customer service and was referred by friends. I'm very happy with them.

we have vents in the kitchen, dining room, living room, hall bath, each bedroom and 2 in the master.

I'm in westchester so I didn't include who we used.

Must say best $12k i ever spent!!!!

That's about where we are thinking we will be price wise as well. Were you able to finance?

Thanks for the info.

Do these quotes include having the duct work done too? We have ducts throughout the house already and would just need the unit installed.

Cost 16,000 with a 3,000 rebate. Needed it all. Got a Lennox 16 Seer with Hepa Filtration. BEST $$$$ we ever spent. It's like living on vacation everyday.

The $12k I paid included duct work. We had none - so it was a full install.

To answer the original posters question - I don't think we had the option to finance, but I'm not sure. We had money put aside for it.
