Questions- 5 month regression? Attachment?
did anyones DC skip that 4 month regression and have a 5.5 month one?
Since last Wed. DS has been a nightmare to put to bed. Now granted we were away in MD this weekend but it took us TWO hours to get him down both Friday and Saturday TWO!!!! Then last night I finally had to let him cry it out for a little bit b/c I honestly didn't know what else to do NOTHING was working (& here I was saying I wouldn't do this!!!!)......So I let him go for 3 minutes, then went in, didn't pick him up but gave him the paci and did "shhhhh" for a bit, the SECOND I walked away from the crib he lost it, but I kept walking, I let him go for another 5 minutes, went back in gave him paci, he was ok for like a minute or two, lost it again....I waited another 5, then went in gave him the paci, put my hand on his, he held it , I "shhhh" more and he went out. Is this what I'm going to have to keep doing? I feel like I can't continue to rock him b/c he tries so hard to get comfy and is fighting sleep that I think me rocking him is actually making it worse. anyone experience that? (it makes me really sad to think he doesn't want to be rocked anymore )
what is going on?!!! Is he just becoming smarter? he was SO easy to put down.
& while I'm here...this morning, every time I walked away from him he cried, could it be b/c we were with him EVERY SECOND of this weekend? Does this happen at this age? Could he actually be having separation anxiety? Teething?
I've had such an angel baby, I will admit so when he reacts like this, it makes me sad, I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, if it's just a phase.
(Sorry this post is so long, I'll shut up now)

could definitely be teething pain. DS always seemed to be in more pain at night. Hylands teething tablets helped to calm him down.

to you. Maybe he is just adjusting to being back from MD? Give him anotherr night or so, and see how it goes, if not back to the way he was, maybe he is just in a little funk, like we all have?
Just another question...What is the 4 month regression? I have a 4 month old, and don't know what this is...lol...

See, I would think that but it started before MD.
I was *warned* that some kids have a 4 month sleeping regression. DS skipped RIGHT over this and I think it's not begun!

With teething - I don't feel anything there but he could still be? (i know I should probably know the answer to this)

Thanks..I'll be on the look-out for that....didn't realize it started before MD. I do know that DC started to cry more before he went to bed, and he was hungry. I started giving him another ounce or two before he went to bed, and that was the answer. I know that may not be true, for you..but I never thought it was that he was hungry, because he was on solids, and still taking 7 oz......
If none of that..teething may be the culprit...those dang teeth...lol

Re: Questions- 5 month regression? Attachment?
My dd(6 months) is like this now...if I have her in her exersaucer or jumper and sit with her she is fine...if I get up and walk away from her or to where she can't see me she screams. I do think it is from knowing more now. The 5-6 month info sheet my ped gave said stranger anxiety is normal at this age-maybe this is some form of it?
Her sleeping was a nightmare last week too...waking up at 1 or 2 and staying up for 1-2 hours before going back to sleep. Last night she didn't go to bed until after 11pm. I hear there is a 6 month growth spurt-I am hoping this is it...I tried rocking her back to sleep (she doesn't use a pacifier) but after a while I would feed her and she still wouldn't go right back to sleep.

YES, this is EXACTLY what happened this morning. He was fine if I was talking to him in the exercauser, I turned around to go finish getting ready....TEARS! I walked back over and he sort of does the arms in the air thing like "please pick me up" and I'm such a sucker!! Do I CIO with separation anxiety
He is actually perfectly fine with *strangers* (daycare, loves my friends, loves babies...)

That is exactly what DS was doing, then I added the extra 1-2 right before he went to bed..so he is doing an avg of 8-9 at his last feeding.....I was shocked, but he did this all last week....ped said to give it to him if he is drinking it!!

Yes my baby doesn't have *stranger*anxiety either...just wants someone in front of her face at all times!
