Questions about movers and storage

We might have to utilize a storage company when we move late spring. I am really hoping we don't have but if we can't find a house before we close on our current home that might have to be done.

Can you recommend any great moving companies that will also store as well (short term). How much storage generally cost?

Tia!

Re: Questions about movers and storage

We thought we were going to run into this problem when we moved into our current home.

I live in NJ, but all 3 companies said they would charge us twice to move but the second time would be less, under a thousand. Then the storage was a maximum of a week and it was a flat rate also (that I don't remember). If it was over night, it wasn't a problem because they would secure the truck in the yard and I just had to pay for travel back and forth again.

If you think you will need storage longer than a month I suggest getting a POD and doing it yourself slowly and do it that way. We moved the first time like that and it wasn't bad at all.

In the end we stayed in our house 2 weeks past closing. We had found a house but we were waiting on certain things for buy closing.

Hope that helped.

Yes. Thanks. See it all depends. We really need to find something soon. I'm guessing we will need storage if we can't line up our closing s.... How long is the question. We really don't want to not be settled for months. Hoping its a short term thing.

Re: Questions about movers and storage

I wrote something last week and apparently it was deleted with the upgrade.

I use Joe the Mover for all my moves. he also owns a storage unit.
