Questions about nighttime potty training & standing up with boys???
So my 2 1/2 year old son has been potty trained since late August. He wears underwear all day and is doing great! We just put him in a 'Big Boy' bed last weekend so now I wondering when should I start night time potty training? He wears an overnight diaper/pull up only at night and is always soaked in the morning. He sleeps through the night and does not wake at all.
Also, at what point do we train him standing up to pee?
Any advice is appreciated!

Re: Questions about nighttime potty training & standing up with boys???
I potty trained DS a couple of weeks ago, but I still put a pull up diaper on him at night. He is dry, but I don't have the confidence that he won't have an accident.
I think when your DS is dry overnight for a long period of time, then you are safe that he won't have an accident. I guess all you can do is tell him that if he has to go potty at night, to come tell you.
As for the peeing standing up, I had to teach him on the fly the other day. He had to go, I didn't have a potty around. So I let him pee into a puddle outside (it was raining). He totally gets to pee away from his clothing, but doesn't get to hold his pee pee yet. I think that comes with times and practice.
I don't know if that helped at all, if it didn't, I'm sorry!

IMO, it's counterproductive to put any type of diaper on them.. a pull up is a diaper imo.. they need to have/feel accidents in order to learn to control the BMs.. I've always gotten rid of ALL diapers and used underwear and that's it.. invest in a good waterproof sheetsaver to put on top of the beds (I always had 2-3 on hand; easier to swap out if there are middle of the night accidents and no sheets to change)..

Personally, I would not bother attempting to nighttime train him until he is consistently waking up dry.
