Questions for those who have DC about 2 years apart....
1. Did you get another crib for the new baby so your older DC could stay in theirs? 2. Do any of you having them sharing a room (same or different sex) and how is it going? TIA!!!

They each have their own room. I had three pieces for my dd. A crib that converts to a bed, a changing table with drawers underneathe and an armoire. So when ds came along I moved the changing table/dresser combo in to his room and bought anew crib which also converts.

My son was 17 months when my second son was born, and yes we got another crib....at 2, my son is still in his crib, and I dont see taking him out of it for awhile.
Plus, we got the forever furniture, so their cribs will turn into beds.

DD's crib converts but we've decided to give the whole set to the new baby and get DD big girl furniture.
We may or may not get another crib-we are going to try to transition DD out of her crib and maybe keep the baby in a bassinet. If that doesn't buy us some time we will get another crib.

DC#2 is due to arrive in 8 weeks.
They will both have their own rooms.
I was thinking about it back and forth if I should buy another crib and have decided that I will. My DS crib is a convertible. We will also be switching DS#1 room as soon as we finish renovating it so I didn't want him to be scared of a new room and a new crib.

DS and DS are 22 months apart
They have the same room and there are 2 cribs in there
I have a portacrib in my room for nightime with DS#2
DS#1 loves his crib...therefore why mess with a good thing?
we have a 2 bedrrom pt so sharing a room was inevitable

Re: Questions for those who have DC about 2 years apart....
Mine are 14 months apart.
No I didn't buy a new crib. I switched Kaitee to a twin bed at 17 months old and she did great in a bed then.
They didn't share a room until my youngest was 11 months old. I had to buy a crib tent to keep Kaitee out of her crib. She would put all the toys and her blanket and pillow into Brooke's crib and climb in with her. It made me nervous. Then when Brooke would no longer sleep in the crib with the crib tent on I switched Brooke to a twin bed at 15 months old for her safety.
Since then everything has been great. Most nights it takes them 1-2 hours to fall asleep because they stay up and play and giggle They are now 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 years old.

Mine are 21 months apart. We moved DS#1 to a toddler bed and DS#2 is still in the crib. They share a room right now and it's going well.

Re: Questions for those who have DC about 2 years apart....
Mine were exactly 2 years apart. We moved DC#1 to his own room, with a toddler bed and a dresser (he was about 21-22 months). We did this right before the arrival of #2 so he wouldn't feel as though we were giving his crib to the new baby. It worked out well. They never had to share a room. Baby #2 went right into the nursery with the same crib we used for #1.

3 years apart. We got the convertible cribs for just that reason. They each have their own room, so we converted DS's crib as he needed, and we converted DD's crib as she needed, and never had to worry about timing it with the other one.

Re: Questions for those who have DC about 2 years apart....
DD's are 27 months apart. We transitioned DD#1 to a toddler bed right after DD#2 was born and will move her to her big girl bed when her furniture arrives.
DD#2 is still in our room in a bassinet, and will move into the crib after DD#1 is situated.
I was dreading the move from the crib since DD#1 loved it so much, but she transitioned REALLY well, in a matter of days to a new room, new bed and no paci.

Re: Questions for those who have DC about 2 years apart....
My girls are 20 months apart, have their own rooms and we did not buy a second crib. DD #1 went into a twin bed at 18 months.
DD#2 and DS are 24 months apart. Again, no crib, DS has his own room and DD#2 went into bed at 20 months.
My girls transitioned no problem to the bed.

Re: Questions for those who have DC about 2 years apart....
Yes, we got a second crib (#1 was 19 months old when #2 was born)
And they have shared a room since the beginning. I put #2 right into his crib te first night he was home to get #1 used to it. After a few nights, things were fine. Put a white noise maching in the room... makes a HUGE difference!
