So its hitting me that I will be induced tomorrow...i am getting Cervidle at 8:00pm tomorrow night...Questions: are you in a room by yourself??? is it a delivery room??? are the beds more comfortable then the ones in the triage rooms??? Can DH stay with me in the room the whole time I am getting the medication?? Oh god i am a mess!

Re: Questions to those that were induced at Winthrop
First off- congrats!!!!!!
I was induced at Winthrop. My experience might be different though- because I just went to the hospital for monitoring, and ended up being induced- but when I was induced, I was given cervadil in a triage room. I believe all of the rooms (triage and delivery) are private. I actually found the triage beds to be more comfortable because they are actual hospital beds- where as the beds in the labor and delivery rooms are a different kind of bed meant especially for laboring.
DH stayed with me the whole time, with the exception of when I was getting my epidural- but thru all of the cervadil and pitocin, he stayed the entire time!!!
Good Luck! You will be fine!

Re: Questions to those that were induced at Winthrop
You will not be in the delivery room. You'll be in another room that is much nicer than a delivery room. I was in there alone, but can't remember if there was another bed in there. DH can stay with you the whole time except for the epi. I was in there for 24 hours. After 2 rounds of cervadil and 1 round of pitocin we decided on a c section. They don't take you to the delivery room until it's time!
Good luck!

Re: Questions to those that were induced at Winthrop
Congrats I was induced at Winthrop. 12 hours potosin and 1 dose of the cervidyl I ended up with a c section all was great. My husband was there the whole time except when I got the spinal in the OR. We were in a delivery room before that, the bed was comfortable. The nurses were great you will be fine! Congrats again!! Hope you have a easy and quick delivery!!!

Re: Questions to those that were induced at Winthrop
As soon as I was admitted I was in one of the labor and delivery rooms. Nice, big room - private. DH stayed the whole time. I was admitted about 4pm Wed and had DS 11pm Thurs and stayed in the same room the entire time.
Bed was pretty comfy - WAY better than the one I was originally in when I went to triage to be checked.

Re: Questions to those that were induced at Winthrop
Congrats! Being induced wasn't as scary as I thought it might be. I was induced at Winthrop. I was sent there for 4pm and was to start Cervadil at 8pm. I had my own delivery room and DH stayed with me the whole time. You will be asked a million questions, have the IV run, and be hooked up to the monitors (baby heart rate and contraction) the whole time.
For me, Cervadil sent me into tentanic contractions after 45 minutes and had to stop it....and that was a nightmare, but Pitocin went well...They started it the next morning at 8:30am, my water broke around noon, I asked for my epi around 2pm, and delivered at 10:32pm. Pitocin wasn't bad for me at all.
The hardest part was that they didn't want me to eat from the time I was admitted. Still, I had some light snacks when they weren't looking. I couldn't go without food from 3pm on Thursday until almost midnight on Friday into Saturday!?!?!

Re: Questions to those that were induced at Winthrop
I was in triage first and when they induced me they took me to a private labor & delivery room, made me comfortable etc. My hubby stayed with me the whole time (except to get food for himself lol). I have to say the staff, the nurses are great. I felt very attended to. I didnt have cervadil but only pitocin but the labor went great. I think this is a great hospital--you are in good hands.
Good luck tomorrow and congratulations!
