Re: Quick ? for Ladies that were induced

I was induced because my water broke but I wasn't dilating. After 24 hours of labor and one round of cervadil, DS was born vaginally.

Re: Quick ? for Ladies that were induced

The induction worked for me....it took about 13 hours total and my doctor was willing to go longer. My contractions were not regular for a long time and then I went from 5cm to fully dilated in an hour, so don't get discouraged.

ETA: I was only on pitocin and was 3cm and 90% effaced with no contractions when they started it.

Re: Quick ? for Ladies that were induced

I was induced at 41 weeks 3 days. I was given cervidil at 730pm and started pitocin at like 9ish the next morning. I got to 5 cm but wouldn't progress from there. I had a c section at 2:43pm. DD never dropped into my pelvis and the doc said when she opened me up that DD was stuck in my pelvis.

Re: Quick ? for Ladies that were induced

I was induced for both of my pregnancies; the first @37 weeks for medical reasons and the second @39 weeks with a selective induction. I didn't need a c-section for either. I was in labor for about 9 hours with the first and it went as planned. I was in labor for a little over 5 hours with the second and that was fine too.

Good luck!! It's very exciting!!Chat Icon

Re: Quick ? for Ladies that were induced

I was induced b/c my water broke and consistent contractions never started on their own. I did end up with a C-section after over 8 hrs on pitocin and no progress.

Re: Quick ? for Ladies that were induced

Induced, the day before my due date because I was having mild contractions and had GD. After 12 hours, I ended up with a C-section because baby's heart went into distress...cord was around her neck and she couldn't come down.

Re: Quick ? for Ladies that were induced

I was induced 5 days late- cervidil went in at 6am then another dose at 9am. Labor started at 3pm and DS was born at 640pm. Never had pitocin, it was a great induction!

I was 50 effaced at 1 cen dilated that morning.

Re: Quick ? for Ladies that were induced

Induced a week before due date due to gall bladder issues - had vaginal delivery. Induction was long but not unbearable.

Re: Quick ? for Ladies that were induced

1st induction- had child on my own
2nd induction- C-section but not because I wasn't progressing but because the baby was in distress. Once he was out, my doc said he never would have fit through my birth canal. He was almost 3 pds bigger than my first!Chat Icon
