Windows up. Don't want fumes getting into the car, and if the car is comfortable when you stop, there's no way it's getting too hot in the minute or two it takes to fill the tank.

The few times I've gotten gas w/ DC, I've left the car running Chat Icon
I guess I really shouldn't.

Because all the gas stations near me are self serve, and I refuse to pay extra to use a debit card - I do not get gas with DC in the car.

D, the times I've used my debit card, they treat it as cash.

Re: Quick Question - Getting Gas with Baby in Car

I usually roll down back window so I can see / talk to DD, unless someone else is in the car with her...

But I try to fill up without her when I can...

I turn the car off, keep the windows up and pay at the pump.... and I usually makes faces atDS through the window looking like a complete idiot to those around me Chat Icon. The car won't heat up in the short amount of time it takes to fill the tank.

It only takes me a couple minutes-I don't even roll the windows down (I don't want to let in gas fumes). If I have the AC on before we stop, usually the car stays pretty cool during the few minutes it takes to fill up.

same....the car doesn't heat up THAT fast......

Since it takes less than 5 min to fill the tank I turn the car off with the windows down and my DD is fine.

I don't get gas when I'm alone with DD , I'm too scared to leave her in the car while I do it , winter or summer, so DH does it or we do it when we are both in the car. I know... I'm crazy Chat Icon
Or I have them do it at the station.
