Random - but does your tailbone/butt hurt since giving birth?
I've notice it truly hurts when I sit too long ever since having Ryan - not sure if it's from that or I'm just a freak. Anyone else?

Mine did after my second DD and it turns out I broke it during the delivery.

Could I have broken mine and not known? How do they tell? I had a pretty traumatic delivery (extremely short) and terrible things happened to my body but no one mentioned that.
Did it kill to give birth thereafter?

Re: Random - but does your tailbone/butt hurt since giving birth?
Yes, after my 2nd, but I would describe it more as "discomfort." I had 2 c-sections, so I knew I couldn't have damaged anything pushing. I had it x-rayed, and it turns out it's sort of misaligned--which is evidently common in women who have been pregnant. Stuff gets pushed around and rearranged, I guess! Anyway, there's nothing that can be done about it in my case, but it's not a constant thing anyhow.

Yeah, mine didn't hurt until the day after, and it couldn't sit at all without it killing me. I had to lay down and nurse. I also had a speedy delivery (just under 6 hours) so my OB said it may have been happening too fast for my body to adjust quickly enough.
I mentioned it to her at my 6 week check up and she said its common, and that there is nothing you could do but ice it or sit on one of those donuts

No, and it didn't break again. I went on to have two natural births after that

Me too.
I was told that it was b/c I was induced due to high BP and was not able to walk around during my delivery.
I hate to say it though, but it still hurts and DS is 18 months old. I was told that it would heal with time, but it has not yet

Re: Random - but does your tailbone/butt hurt since giving birth?
Mine did with BOTH pregnancies. The first was pretty bad when sitting or even worse when getting up from a seated position the second was insanely painful!!!! I had a natural birth both times and actually felt a POP with my second birth. Unfortunately there is nothing that can be done for it. it just has to heal on it's own. It took about 6 weeks for the first and like 9 weeks for the second (although if I sit for too long it STILL hurts at almost 14 weeks pp).

Re: Random - but does your tailbone/butt hurt since giving birth?
I did not deliver yet but I hurt my tailbone years ago, just sitting too long and the wrong way on it. I also had xrays, etc and nothing was wrong. It still bothers me years later, nothing helps it but staying off of it by laying down, etc.
I do know during delivery it can get injured and it can even break. I know someone it happened to, took a long time to heal and never fully did. Tailbone are tricky, don't always heal the right way.
I have to watch what I sit on to this day or sit on a cushion with a tailbone cutout if sitting a long time.

Very much so, still to this day, 3 years later.
I attribute it to the fact that Alex was sunnyside up, so I had the worst fathomable back labor that lasted for HOURS while her head just pounded on my tailbone

Not me but my GF had this and her tailbone was broken too. There was nothing to do for it IIRC except time to heal. And be uncomfortable as all heck trying to sit normally.
Sorry.

Exact same thing with me except its been 2 years and after terrible back labor I ended up with a c-section.
The worst is going to the movies - it kills my tailbone to sit that long!!

Re: Random - but does your tailbone/butt hurt since giving birth?
Yes!!! It hurt so bad for the first year, anytime I would sit down and get back up it hurt. I thought I was alone in that.. and I actually still feel pain occasionally.
ETA: I wasnt able to get up and walk either, they gave me demerol since I was in so much pain and not dialting. I think that might have played a part in it also.

We don't even barely go to the movies or only certain movie theaters due to my tailbone pain. I hear ya. :
And on a side note, I was worried alot about this for my upcoming delivery. Turns out I need a c/s so I hope my tailbone is spared somehow. But I met with the anesthesiologist ther other day and was telling him about my tailbone. And he told me his sister hurt hers when she was FIVE years old and over 35 years later, it STILL bothers her but NOTHING is wrong with it that they can see.

That's how I hurt mine, sitting too long and not getting up. I was on a long place ride and could not get up b/c I didn't want ot bother the stranger next to me. And after that plane ride of being unable to get up, my tailbone has been the biggest source of discomfort I have ever had in my life. So i think not being able to get up can inflame a tailbone to the point where it can't ever fully heal/recover.

Re: Random - but does your tailbone/butt hurt since giving birth?
Mine hurt, and now 19 months later if I sit too long or on a hard chair it still hurts. When my DS was about 5 months old my OB send me to get x-rays and have it checked by an orthopedist. He gave it a fancy name and basically said it is an inflammation from the delivery and from being flat in bed for 28+ hours. He gave me anti-inflammatory medication to take for a few weeks -- they helped a little but I still have pain.

Re: Random - but does your tailbone/butt hurt since giving birth?
Omg YES!!
I have been complaining about this since Megan was born over 2 years ago. I had a c section but pushed for 3 hours before the dr. decided it was time for an emergency c.
It hurts when I sit for too long and when I go to stand up, I see stars!!!!!! I have to use my arms to push myself forward and get up just like right after the surgery. Its awful and I have no idea why that is at all.
