I always do. Even turning into my driveway. The only times I don't, is when coming to a one-way street, where I can only turn one direction. Then it should be obvious. Some parking lots, depending on the layout. Most parking lots, I do, though.

i was JUST fuming about this today. i can't stand when people don't signal. it you are making a turn or a lane change it's the LAW - not to mention a common courtesy.
this is my biggest driving pet peeve.

I ask this because this morning the same idiot almost caused 4 accidents this morning. He NEVER signaled he was changing lanes and almost hit people.

I do, however when I took my first road test here in the UK I failed on oversignalling. The rules state that you only have to signal when it benefits another driver, so if there aren't any other cars in your immediate eyesight, you don't have to signal.

I hate "subjective" laws like that. How can you be 100% sure that it's not benefiting another driver? Since I'm not omnipotent (getting there, but not quite there yet...   ), I always signal, just in case, even at 3am on a deserted road. I just think it's safer to always signal, then to have to think about whether you should or not.

MOST of the time. There is a road in my town that kind of winds and the last wind has a weird sort of fork where the main road continues south - but there IS a kind of side road that you could take straight. It's hard to explain but NOBODY ever signals there and I have forgotten more times than I like to admit.

Yes, always, and I think I'm in the minority here in CA. I can't even tell you how many times I've been cut off on the highway by people who didn't signal that I would've slowed down and let in if I'd seen their blinker, or almost gotten into an accident because I'm not psychic and didn't realize the person ahead of me wanted to turn at the corner... ugh. I really wish the local police would enforce it more around here.
