Reaction from heartworm meds . . .
Has anyone's pet (dog especially) ever had a bad reaction to their monthly pill?
I noticed this morning Dottie didn't want to eat her food, she didn't even want to take a snack - which is SO not like her. Then I found out she didn't eat last night either. I gave her the pill yesterday morning w/ her breakfast - which she finished.
She's not vomitting or anything. She's slightly lethargic, but nothing severe. Tail is wagging, etc.
I looked online and noticed these are possible, but rare side effects of Interceptor (which she's on). I called the vet and he said it's possible but should be out of her system by tonight. If it's not I'll bring her in tomorrow.
The only difference from the last round of Interceptor is that she's gained weight, so they moved her up a dosage. I thought that might be it and the vet seemed to think so too, but since it's such a small dosage, wasn't sure.
Just curious if anyone's pet has gone through this.
Thanks!!
