Realistic Cost of an IUI OOP

Just verified with my new insurance company that we do not have any IF insurance whatsoever. I called and spoke with LI IVF about their case rates and the rep was very vague about costs. I asked her what is the total amount from start to finish and she wouldn't tell me, she just wanted me to set up a consultation ($500 Chat Icon) and take it from there. I have already had a consultation and had testing done back in february, and was told we would do an IUI with a trigger. But then we lost our old insurance with great IF coverage.

DH and I want to get ourselves prepared for this, as we can most likely only afford 3 shots at this, so if anyone has any insight, I'd appreciate it Chat Icon

Re: Realistic Cost of an IUI OOP

I go to RSofNY and they have a package for OOP IUIs. It's $800 for all blood/sono monitoring and the actual procedure... I am not sure if the meds are included though.

Our insurance covers all monitoring, but not the procedure or meds. We pay $300ish for the IUI itself but the meds are Chat Icon!!! One month of Gonal-F would cost me $1500, $750 for the generic brand. I have been SO lucky and haven't had to pay for the meds yet... thanks to some amazing ladies on this board!

Thank you so much for this information. I actually just downloaded the new patient packet and plan on calling them Monday morning to set up a consultation. Do you have any reccos on drs?

I loved my Dr at LI IVF, but DH wants to look elsewhere after our experience with the financial rep.

I was looking up the costs of drugs on my insurance's rx lookup and I couldn't believe how much some of the meds cost Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon. That is so sweet others were able to help you out!!

My drs office charged:

$600 for the IUI
$150 for the sperm washing
$35 for the catheter

My insurance covered mine, but I received a bill from the dr that showed the break down of the cost
