Re: Really bad gas pains in belly and back? Anyone else have this?
Anyone?
For the past 2 days I have had what feels like really bad gas pains across my mid-section from my back to my belly. They radiate up and down my back as well. I have also had to go to the bathroom alot. I called my OB this morning and she had me come in to get checked. They did see I was having some contractions but is still far up she said.
I am wondering if I am having these pains b/c of how he is laying or maybe it is something else like my gallbladder or kidney stones It's not a severe pain where I can't wait, just really annoying. And it is almost constant. Last night I took a hot shower and let the water hit my back and put a heating pad on it and was able to fall asleep. It just feels like never-ending gas pains

Try the Mylanta and see if it works- I have been having heartburn that I swear is causing me back pain, but I'm not sure if that's even possible.
I have been through gallbladder attacks- they do cause upper back pain, but it's more of like a really bad pain, not a dull one, and will leave when the attack is over. Feel better!

I am going to take the mylanta when I get home from work.
The past week I have had severe heartburn at night as well so I am guessing it's all connected. The baby is probably squishing something it shouldn't. But the pain starts in my mid-back which is where i guess my stomach is and radiates up and down my back, into my abdomen and sometimes I can feel it in my shoulders. That's why I thought maybe gallbladder or kidney stone.
ETA: What does your back pain feel like? Heartburn and reflux can cause back pain I do know that. Maybe that is my problem too.

ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've been feeling like this all day. cramps like I am getting my period, and pain in my back. I was thinking it was the baby spreading in to my ribs.
it's so uncomfortable! I have been trying to walk around more...I guess I'll just have to suck it up.
i am a bit less than 32 weeks. I thought it was too early for this stuff!

I had that pain - it felt so much like gas pains that were 10x worse. I almost passed out at one point. I think i was slightly dehydrated though. I went to doctor and they didn't notice anything strange - only to let them know if it came back. TG it hasn't. Maybe drink lots of water and see if it helps.

Re: Really bad gas pains/crampiness in belly and back? Anyone else have this?
I had that pain at 8 weeks. I thought I was having a miscarriage. It felt like period cramps meets diarrhea cramps but all through my back and side.
It was killing me, I rushed to the bathroom to push out whatever it was, I was so desperate to relieve the pain and I was in tears of the fear of what I thought it was.
Next thing I know, I hear a loud fart. and all the pain is gone.
In the next weeks I learned to move around when I feel the pain, when the pain starts moving, I know its just gas and its on its way out.
I called my mother and she said, "yeah, I had even worse carrying you" ... omg I can't imagine. GasX (Simethicone) is okay to take since its not absorbed by the body. Its safe enough for babies.
here is my favorite over the counter drug chart for pregnancy safety.
