REALLY bad heartburn... Can I take anything?
I'm so new to what I can take and what I should avoid. This heartburn is SO bad right now...
Can I take tums or SOMETHING?
And the fun begins!!!

I'm fairly sure tums are fine... they seem to be the most innocuous of heartburn meds....
also try to modify your diet to minimize acid generation

Try Tums. If it's really bad than my doctor had said I could have Zantac. Try to sit upright, drink water and eat crackers. I found that helps me a lot. Feel better.

TUMS- and eventually I moved up to an acid reducer pill, suggested by doc.

rolaids softchews (i think that's thename) are good as well. they saved me a few times.

had acide reflux pre-pregnancy and just recently had a horrible week with heartburn symptoms EXCEPT it was sooooooooo much worse than i ever had it, the heartburn literally turned into painful burning spasms in my upper abdomen, i called the doc and he prescribed zantac 150 morn and night so far so good knock wood ive been ok since. im going to the doc tomorrow so im gonna ask how long i could stay on this just dont wanna feel that again ....sooooo OP i feel ur pain!

Thanks, ladies!!!
I'm going to get some tums when I run out in a bit. I'm trying SO hard to ingest the right things and be good. So far, so good!!!
I'm drinking milk right now and the HB actually feels a tiny bit better, but I'm still going to get those chewable tums!!!

I took Tums and Pepcid. My Dr. allowed me Pepcid as a last resort.

I started with Tums but they didn't help. Then I tried Mylanta, still very little relief. Finally, the doctor perscribed Zantac 150 and it has been my lifesaver.
