really weird nursery question

We have one spare bedroom that will be the nursery. Right now it is DH’s “man cave” we have 3 huge DVD racks and CD in it – I do not want to put them like that in the living room! Any one have a similar situation? What are you going to do with that stuff?

We put them into those long flat tupperware containers (for DVD's) and slid them underneath the bed since we don't use them all that often. HTH!

I have a day bed and a desk in the room that will be a nursery. I'm going to chuck the daybed... which also had drawers... all my arts and crafts stuff is in those drawers. I'm going to put them in huge tupperwares and store that. The desk is going to stay where it is for now.

For CD's and DVD's... do you have an entertainment center? Or a TV stand that could hold them in a cabinet? What about buying something that looks like furtiture but opens to hold the items? This way it's asthetically pleasing and you wouldn't know what's inside?

The soon to be nursery was our office. We took most of the stuff out besides for the desk which matches the nursery furniture. We also got creative with storage and put the printer in the closet (it's wireless) and stored everything else we don't use everyday in our large closet. Trying to streamline as much as possible and remove all the excess. It's not perfect, but in a two bedroom apartment it was our only option.

We have a two great storage cubes from Target that we use in our living room. We have Wii games in it and it's extra seating when we have company. You could try something like that.

we have a small tv stand with compartments but there is no room at all to hold all of them

Re: really weird nursery question

we have a similar situation- except it was our office. we turned the desk into the changing table (just cleared off and threw a changing pad on there)

and moved all our dvds up to the attic/storage space. I lke the idea of putting them in bins under the bed, thats a great idea

Re: really weird nursery question

Would you be willing to go the book route??

You can take the disks and the booklets and put them in books instead. That will save A TON of room!!

Our nursery was previously our office, but it was also sort of a man cave. It looked masculine and DH had all these nice framed vintage car pics in there. Fortunately, we recently finished our basement and made office space down there, so he was able to transfer all his man cave belongings down there. Anything else went in storage bins in closet or attic for now.

Re: really weird nursery question

right now our nursery is the room that used to be mine. It held all my clothes, vanity table, treadmill, etc. We ended up storing the treadmill in the garage and we moved my vanity table & dresser into the master bedroom, which makes things a lot more tight, but whatever. My clothes are still hanging in that closet though. I'll probably leave my stuff in there for now anyway since the baby doesn't really need a closet, just a dresser and there's absolutely NO room in our bedroom closet with all of DH's stuff

yes!! that is what we did bc we have a ridiculous amount of dvds... we got rid of all the cases and put all the discs in those big cd booklets. the cd booklets are all on a bookshelf! it really does give you a ton of extra space if you have a lot of dvds, and it is still organized and accessible.
