Rear dormer on a cape - Anyone do it?

We had a company come last night for an estimate, and forgot to ask an important question.

Right now, there's no attic - just storage in the eves that go along the back of the home.

When they do a dormer, do they keep attic space/storage somewhere?

We have 2 bedrooms up there now, and would be adding a bathroom in the middle (top of the stairs) and making the 2 rooms larger.

We have a rear dormer on our cape that was built in '55. There is no attic space/eves in the rear but we still have the eves in the front of the house. We also have a small room in the front of our house (upstairs) that is a storage area but I would love to open it up to make a 3rd bedroom upstairs someday.

DH and I just moved into a cape with a rear dormer added (which somehow made it a colonial). This dormer was added on years ago before the previous owners.

We have 3 br's and a full bath upstairs. The attic is large enough to store stuff in but because we have duct work there it doesn't have TONS of space. I believe the attic only covers the original footprint of the upstairs, not including the dormer.

Hmmm...it sounds like both situations are a little different than the setup of our home. I may have to just give the guy a call.
