Rec your small to mid sized SUV

Since I am now a SAHM I am looking for someting affordable and looking to lease.

Any details would be greatly appreciated...thx

Our current lease is up and it was completley paid off so I'm not looking for anything with very high monthly payments.

The lease deals stink though, but they can be financed affordablly as well!

I have the 2010 model for about 4 months now and cant think of one bad thing to say!

The other cars I looked at were
Mazda CX-7
Mazda CX-9 (more of a large SUV)

My BF rented a Hyundai Santa Fe and loved it. Her two boys were 3 and 6 at the time. Plenty of room in the back seat for the car seat and booster. And the trunk space was huge...

Very true. I watch my nieces from time to time and have had 2 car seats and a booster in there without any problem!

Like I said the lease deals on this car are pretty bad, but if you are willing to purchase IMO its a car you can grow with and with such a great warranty you hve piece of mind as well!

Oh, I don't know if they are offering leases in NY anymore but down here in FL they haven't for a while. We bought our new liberty a few weeks ago and got an awesome deal.

I have the KIA sorrento, and I love it! The payments are $350 a month, and we put about 3000 down I think.

I just bought the other day a Nissan Rogue and love it. It's very spacious and we financed but we put 0 down and 0% financing.. :) so we pay about 350 a month

On vacation we rented a Ford Edge. I didn't think I would love it as much as I did. We are seriously considering one. Without any bells and whistles they are leasing for about $229 per month, and of course will increase to just under $400 per month with the options that I liked such as leather, sports package and navi.

Re: Rec your small to mid sized SUV

I bought a used 04 suzuki xl7 when preggers with DS in early 08. We financed some of it through our bank tfcu which had really good car loans at the time. We love it and have not had any problems with it at all. Took it on a road trip this summer and was happy to have sooo much room in the back for all our gear...also great for costco or bj's trips. Only down fall is the gas mileage isn't great. We pay about $170 a month on the loan.

Re: Rec your small to mid sized SUV

Several family members of mine and DH's have Honda CR-Vs. They all love them!! My aunt has a Toyota Rav-4 and actually mentioned recently that she wished she bought the CR-V too! I always buy Hondas, so if I were looking for a small SUV, that would be my first choice. They are well made, look sharp, have a great track record and are roomy inside.

My parents recently bought a Subaru Forrester and are in love! It is even more affordable than the CR-V and has plenty of room along with a large moonroof. I don't have much experience with the brand but Consumer Reports rated it the highest of all small SUVs in 2010. Happy Shopping! Chat Icon

Preggo crashing, but we bought a 2010 Santa Fe as our "family car" and I love it. Our payments are very affordable (and this is from someone that started out looking for a used car!) I'll have tons of room for the baby and all the stuff she'll come with. They've got excellent safety ratings. And the gas mileage is pretty good.

We looked at the CR-V, Rav-4, and CX-7 also, but got the best deal on a Santa Fe.

Re: Rec your small to mid sized SUV

My dream would be a Mazda CX7

I got the Mazda Tribute before the CX7's were even out in anticipation of one day having a baby. I wanted it paid off etc. I do love my tribute. I loved it even more in NY where the optional 4X4 switch came in handy. I like it cause its comfy but roomy (so many IKEA runs I can't even begin to tell you) small enough to fit in any garage, parking lot, etc. Good gas milage, not a monster truck, easy to handle.

Still, if I had the cash now, I'd lean toward the larger cousin the Mazda CX7

Re: Rec your small to mid sized SUV

DH wanted the Sante Fe, he still drools at it when we drive by one. He thinks for the price its an amazing value.

But I'm so in love with our Murano, I couldn't look at another car. I love the way it looks, and the way it handles.

We have had our Jeep Cherokee for 5 years and it's been great to us (this is our 4th Jeep as well) not a single problem (knock on wood).

It fits three kids fine (if one is not in a carseat)
