Recall on Prenatal and Iron Supplements
I don't want to scare anyone but I work in the pharmaceutical industry and this recall was just brought to my attention.
Check the link with the list of drugs to be sure yours isn't listed there.
If it is, you may want to speak to your doctor.
Again, I'm not trying to scare anyone but I just wanted to pass on this info:
FDA Recall Page

Re: Recall on Prenatal and Iron Supplements
I''m on Chromagen. I'd like to cross post this to b/c it's not only prenatal vitamins. I am going to check my lot # when I get home. Just my luck. My iron levels finally came up a bit since a doctor put me back on this.

Re: Recall on Prenatal and Iron Supplements
Unfortunately, I had one on the list and have been taking them for months. I went for my first prenatal visit and asked the dr about it. She told me that it was a voluntary recall and had nothing to do with the actual ingredients in the medication or vitamins. It is still fine to take if you have it. The problem was more on the business aspect of it.

I am sure it is totally safe but I might insist on a new bottle. I don't see a need to take something when the company admitted that is wasn't manufactured according to standard.

Re: Recall on Prenatal and Iron Supplements
The prenatal that I took is on that list, in addition to my iron supplement. I still haven't checked the lot number of my iron pills.

The problem had to do with the manufacturing process so just to be on the safe side, I would check your lot numbers.
There was apparently a breakdown in the cGMP which stands for "Current Good Manufacturing Practices". cGMP are guidelines set forth by the FDA to ensure that a safe, efficacious product is made.
When there's a breakdown in this process, there can be serious effects and adverse reactions.
