Recent 1 yo's, what size are you buying for spring summer?
DS turned 1 on 4/8 and I recently started buying him 18 months. The pants are a little long on him but they look cute rolled up. I am wondering about shorts? Will 18 months take him until August or will I need 24 months by then? I am so confused and it's hard to find shorts late in the summer.
What size are you buying for summer clothes?

TBH, I would just buy 18 months for the summer, shorts can be short, KWIM?
My DS will be 2 on 4/26 and he wore 12-18 months last summer and is still in 18-24 pants now!

I really don't think you can go by what other parents are getting their kids...
my DS is outgrowing size 18 mo right now, and is already wearing some 24 mo clothing (although some pants are still long).... and he's only 6 mo old!
just go by your gut instinct... better yet, ask your ped to look at his growth chart and ask his/her opinion on how tall they think DS will be in sept, and buy accordingly

For early summer outfits, I bought 12 months and really summer stuff I bought 18 months. DD turns one on 4/18!

Kaydyn turned 1 the end of Jan, but she is on the little side. She still pretty much fits in 6-9 month pants and 12mo shirts. She's just starting to fit into 12mo stuff.
I asked for all 18mo stuff for the summer and got a ton at her birthday party. I figure even if she grows for the shorts it shoudn't matter. For shirts I figure if I have to run to Target or Kohls for a few tshirts in the middle of summer it's not a big deal.

same for my DD. she just started fitting into 12 month stuff. on her birthday I had everyone buy 18 months for summer.

DS is 16 months but is about 36 inches (approx) and he just went into to 24 month clothing.
All his summer stuff is 24 months or 2 T, I figure this should take him through most of hte summer and we will see where he is at in August if he needs new stuff.

when DD was 1 - she has turned 1 in June. she wore 18 mths for summer. It really depends on the child though, you cant go by what others are buying.

Athan is the only kid I 'know' who is bigger than Elizabeth. I love that.
He HAS to be bigger than her so he can fend off all the boys to protect her

I bought both 18 and 24 months. I figure she would get use out of the 18 months in the late spring/early summer and the 24 months for the late summer/early fall.
But she was already in some 18 month clothes by her 1st birthday which was 3/17.

18-24 months. He's 25 pounds and 31 inches so I go more by that. I love the one piece sets for boys - very easy and cute too.
