reflux flare-up - at 6 months?

Hi. My DS is 6 months old and has had reflux since about 3-4 weeks old. Once we started Zantac and switched him to Alimentum things really improved and it had been smooth sailing since them. We thought that he was doing so well that the ped had started weaning him off the zantac by not upping his dose even though he was gaining weight. Last week we finally took him off zantac completely. Well, big mistake. He became really fussy during bottles, arching, and even crying a bit. This helped me realize that he had been showing subtle signs of reflux for a couple weeks

We started back on the new higher and correct dose of Zantac and things improved, he even started drinking more, more like his old self. But, for the last 2 nights, he's been showing bad signs of reflux during his last bottle at 7PM. I can tell stuff is coming up - he makes faces, swallows a lot, I hear sounds of liquid in his mouth. Today he couldn't finish his bottle and last night he was up at 3:30AM and I could hear that stuff was coming up.

Could the reflux be back even worse than before? I thought it would get better as he got older.

How can I help my baby feel better? What should I do? (oh, and today he poopied 4 times, the last of which was diahrrea).

it sounds like he wasn't ready to come off the Zantac yet. It may take a little while for his system to get back in gear..... Also if he has gone through a growth spurt recently, his dose is going to need to be adjusted again. How much does he weigh? My DS will be 6 months tomorrow. He was on Zantac 2 times a day, 1ML per dose. It worked great for him in the beginning. He has had GERD since 4 weeks old. Then he stopped liking the taste and was spitting it out or throwing it up all the time, so they switched him to Axid. He then hit a growth spurt at 4 months and we had to add another dose. he is in the middle of another growth spurt now, so we will see what happens.
